Mr. Franklin Arbuckle is a very famous Canadian Artist. In addition to painting this 1949
MacLean’s cover of Hibb’s Cove, Arbuckle painted two other beautiful pieces of Hibb’s Cove
at that same time. It would be nice if The Heritage Society could obtain these or prints of same
as these paintings really show well pre-confederation Hibb’s Cove better than words could ever do!!! He was trained by the famous “Group of 7”, and his wife (Ann) was the daughter of one of them namely Mr. Frenz Johnston.
