Salt Winds Cottage

Salt Winds Cottage

About this space
Our property is situated in a prime location that balances quiet privacy with breathtaking scenery, this three-bedroom, two-bathroom family home offers a rare vacation experience. From the moment you arrive, the property exudes a sense of warmth and belonging. The elevated deck provides a private vantage point to enjoy your morning coffee, track the steady rhythm of boats in the harbour and marvel at the rugged beauty of the shore.

The space
Welcome to our family home, a sanctuary of authentic Newfoundland hospitality tucked away in the Port de Grave Peninsula, one of the most picturesque working fishing villages in the province. Our family first settle in the peninsula dating back to the 1700s. This home isn’t just a property to me; it’s the backdrop of a life lived by the tides. Growing up in Port de Grave, the harbour was my playground, and the wharf was my first classroom. I spent my summers aboard fishing boats and working the wharf alongside fishermen who taught me the value of a hard day’s work and a well-told story.

After years of being away, I feel incredibly fortunate to have found my way back to the cliffs and salt air of Port de Grave. Purchasing this home was a rare opportunity to reclaim my place in the village that raised me and to return to the roots that have always pulled at my
heart.

Inside, you won’t find the sterile feel of a hotel or a rental property. You’ll find a cozy home away from home, filled with personal touches that invite you to truly belong to our village. Enjoy Your Stay in Our Beautiful Home, so please treat it with the care and respect as if it was yours. This is a one floor home; our three bedrooms and two full bathrooms are easily accessible along with our deck that provides a spectacular view of the harbour and
surrounding coastline.

To make sure you get the most out of your stay, we’ve poured our local knowledge into a handcrafted guidebook available to guests to review. This isn’t a generic tourist brochure; it’s a collection of our family’s all-time favourite spots, from the hidden coastal trails where I spent my youth to the best kitchens for a Newfoundland meal.
