1st Annual Fisher Feast Nov 6 2019 Update

1st Annual Fisher Feast honoring former MHA/MP John Efford was a great success!

The 1st Annual Fisher Feast was held at St. Luke’s Hall, Port de Grave, on Wednesday, Nov. 6th, 2019 to honor one of our own former MHA/MP John Efford.  In attendance were Premier Dwight Ball, MP Ken McDonald, Senator Fabian Manning, MHA Pam Parsons, along, with family, friends and associates.  The night was one to remember with lots of stories, laughs and kind words for John.  A special video message came from former Prime Minister Paul Martin.  MC for the evening was Amy House who kept the event a fun filled evening.

The PDGPHS along with the Port de Grave Harbour Authority honored John by partnering together to name a road after him.  The road on the southside of the harbour will now be known as John Efford Drive!

During John’s time in Provincial and Federal Government he did a lot for the Port de Grave Peninsula and his district.  One of the things he is most proud of is his contribution to the development of the Port de Grave harbour.   John stated “ever since he was a little boy fishing with his Dad, it was his life long dream to make it a safe harbour” and that is exactly what he did!

We had a great evening last night at the Inaugural Fisher Feast Gala. We would like to thank everyone that attended and support John Efford and his family and supported the Port de Grave Peninsula Heritage Society. We would like to take this time to again thank our partnering sponsors without you this event would not have been possible.
