I am the Great Grand Son of Joseph Butler who was a resident of Port de Grave of way back when and my Grandfather Kenneth Butler left Port de Grave and went to St. John’s to finish grade 11 and did an Electrician’s Course and found employment at the Paper Mill in Grand Fall/Windsor and bought a lot of land including land south of the railroad tracks and the Family still holds DEEDS of Land occupied by major Companies in the area. ReaD Ed Roberts’ take on Butler’s Island and our Family was told many times that our generation were the very first to settle in NL near Cupids…go figure how many NL family’s can imagine that could be true…BUTLER’S…THE FIRST TO SETTLE IN NEWFOUNDLAND? What about the VIKINGS???…Doesn’t matter who arrived first…the most impressive outcome is that we all became Newfoundlander’s and Labradorian’s…WE ALL EMBRACE EACH OTHER EVERY MINUTE OF OUR LIVES AND ARE COMMITTED TO LOVE & HELP ANY PERSON WHO COMES INTO OUR LIVES BOTH NEAR AND FAR…WE WILL HELP THEM…RED AND YELLOW, BLACK AND WHITE, THEY ARE PRECIOUS IN HIS SITE…JESUS/WE LOVE ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD. LOVE AND HELP YOUR NEIGHBOR/FRIEND!
